MySQL 8.0 Database Server: a freeware database server. It has versions available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. There are a number of tools available for working in MySQL, available from the same website. As a CP363 student, you have access to a MySQL on the department Linux server hopper. This can only be accessed from on campus. MySQL on hopper is administered by the course instructor. If you need special capabilities or access from the server please inform the course instructor.
You are welcome to install MySQL on your own computer for testing and practice, however, assignments will be run against the DCRIS database or against your database on hopper.
